Lichtenstein Castle (Schloss Lichtenstein), built in Gothic Revival style, has been described as the "fairy tale castle of Württemberg." The ruins of a medieval castle, that inspired a novel, are a few hundred meters away. The name Lichtenstein translates as "shining stone."

A second church, in gothic style, was built between 1407 and 1412. In 1751, a Baroque style addition was put on. The building was restored in 1973. It is said that Ägidius, the namesake of this church, protected a deer from King Flavius Wamba who was hunting it.
