Skijoring is a combination of Montana’s favorite things:  snow, skis and horses.  There is a long course where the horse and rider run straight down the middle while pulling a skier behind with a rope.  The skier maneuvers through obstacles.  The object of the game is to go as fast as you can through the course.  It is a thrill to watch. Many of the horses and riders are dressed in their finest cowboy frills.  The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly.

Bannack State Park:  a Ghost Town in Southwest Montana, USA

Most of the buildings remaining in Bannack State Park, a ghost town in southwest Montana, are still in decent shape and open for perusal.  Wallpaper and linoleum are pealing back to reveal years and transitions.  The mind wanders as you study what used to be.  There are a few really noteworthy specimens of old Bannack buildings that you will naturally be drawn to.  Such as the hotel, with its beautiful, sweeping staircase that takes you from the lobby to the second floor. The state park offers more than just walking through musty corridors and looking out rolled glass panes.  It has a variety of events and activities throughout the year.

The Historic Arvon Hotel in Great Falls, Montana

The Historic Hotel Arvon in Great Falls, Montana has maintained the charm of its yesteryears, though fully renovated.  Everything is like new, comfortably clean and crisp.  Yet you can easily envision its original state. The establishment has mastered the artful balance of old and modern.  I would love to see many more investors accomplish what these folks have.  I am thoroughly impressed.
