Scuba Diving on Isla de la Juventud (Youth Island) in Cuba

The sea surrounding Isla de la Juventud (Youth Island) in Cuba is similar to Fernando de Noronha in Brazil.  Warm temperature and good visibility. The distinct differences are the connections you make with people in Cuba.

Cuba, of course, has a very different way of governing  They live with no freedom. Everywhere we looked, there was someone wearing a uniform, watching us (the tourists and the locals).  I (Marcio) loved my stay in Cuba, but Clenia not too much.

We utilized a travel agency, ECOTUR, in order to travel to Cuba. It no longer exists.  The flight to Isla de la Juventud departs from Havana (the capital of Cuba). The planes were old (very old); Russian aircrafts.  As we assumed, all the dive gear was old and very used.
